Follow Jesus Together

D - Groups

By 2035, we want to see 20,000 people discipled. And we can’t get there without you.

Final words matter. In fact, sometimes the most important words someone says are his or her final words. In Matthew 28:16-20, we read Jesus’ final word to the church: make disciples. At IBC, we don’t believe obeying these words is an option. We are obligated to make disciples. We accomplish this through our D-Groups.

A D-Group, short for discipleship group, is an intentional relationship among 3-5 people who help one another follow God through mutual accountability. D-Groups don’t replace small groups. D-Groups help believers grow deeper in their faith while small groups help believers reach wider with their faith.

Each D-Group begins at a kickoff in August or January. Each D-Group has a leader who facilitates the group. Each group consists of 3-5 people of the same gender who commit to meet once a week for the next 9-12 months for Bible study, prayer, accountability, Scripture memory, and evangelism.

By 2035, we desire to disciple 20,000 through our church. This doesn’t mean we hope to have 20,000 people attending IBC. Instead, we hope to worship, connect, and reach. We only fulfill this hope when we take Jesus’ mandate to make disciples with 3-5 people that God places within our circle of influence.

So. . . will you pray about participating in D-Group this year? If you believe that God’s command is for you, check out the links below
