Family Devotionals

We know that leading your family spiritually can be one of the greatest challenges in your life. This happens due to a myriad of reasons including a parent’s own struggles, the lack of time each week, your child’s attention span, and fear you don’t know where to begin.

The Biggest Story Family Devotional is a 104-week devotional meant to help parents talk about the Bible with their children regardless of their children’s age. The devotional highlight 104 important stories and teachings in the Bible (52 from the Old Testament and 52 from the New Testament).

Depending on the age of your children, you can use the devotional once a week or five days a week. Each devotional takes as little as 5-10 minutes and as long as 30-40 minutes depending on the age of your children and how long you want to discuss each story.

Each week comes with a big picture summary of the week’s devotion, a 5-minute animated video summarizing the week’s devotion, five questions to ask your family, gospel connection, and a prayer to lead your family in.

Also, you can go to www.thebiggeststory.com to access additional resources to help your family understand the Bible as one big story.

Finally, we know that you may still have many questions about leading a family devotional. Check out this article for encouragement about what to do (and not to do) when leading a family devotional.

Join us for Small Groups

We know that parenting can be hard. We also know parenting can be lonely. To make parenting even more challenging, we know that you can feel invisible while your children stand in the spotlight. We want you to know that we see you and want to walk alongside. Small groups at IBC are a great way to connect with other adults who have already raised children, are raising children, or will raise children. Check out our groups page for information about each of our small groups.
